Spent the day hanging with my people playing some cricket& football
I was sporting a St. Rita/Sox Cap
, while I played in memory of my uncle
who loved the Sox, his HS, all sports & was himself extremely charitable. I feel like he was right there playing alongside us today
The time passed as though, I was in middle school again, & I am rarely as sore as I am now today, a decent indication of how hard we played!!
The entire day is a highlight reel
of great memories, one of my faves has to be when my team was down, but close in a multiple game tournament. We had 1 out left & I asked if this lil boy who was maybe 40 lbs, up to my waist could bat for me, my team was exasperated
at first, but agreed
he ended up creaming a cpl shots & went for 5 in a row, we nearly won it on his bat,
was SO proud & let him know how much better he did than I would have!!
It’s amazing to be able to do things like this, building confidence in the “tiniest” among us. It doesn’t take much to build confidence or inspire love in the world; purely some intention, awareness & effort. I am like a hawk
on the playground trying to make sure everyone who feels like participating feels included, & is supported. The superintendent
had showed me pics of a few kids in particular that needed extra attention, guidance & love. She was sure they would respond to me, & in fact I was able to connect so superbly with them
So stellar that a lifetime learning ALL the tricks & understanding people so well, gives me the ability to reach those with such an immense need
Luckily we donated the equipment bc I lost at least two shots over the building, yet still felt bad
…unreal just how much more which is needed, but I believe that much will be sorted out!!
